Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. Her most well-known work is her leading role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received an award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson and an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. In the final season of the show, Sedgwick was awarded the Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her recurring role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick received nominations for the Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) as well as Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who worked as an therapist for speech and family and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV, a venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish and her father was Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick has stated that she's Jewish and is a part of Passover meals.
