Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group, an NYC-based real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then exited the company. Corcoran was one of ABC's original Shark investors was a featured guest of each episode of Shark Tank. She has participated in 53 deals since February, 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children from a working class Irish Catholic family.  Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving from one job to the next throughout Corcoran's youth. Her family depended sometimes on food deliveries from the local grocer who would deliver free food. Corcoran claims that her father was a drunken man who treated her mother with disrespectful and condescension. Corcoran struggled with her education and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran began in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended a Catholic primary school. Corcoran was absent from several classes in her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
